LED

發光二極管(LED)是光電半導體將電能轉換為光能。相比激光二極管(LD),發光二極管提供優點,例如成本低,壽命長。Hamamatsu Photonics提供高輸出功率的光開關,編碼器,測量及光通信LED的理想選擇。

Light emitting diodes (LED) are opto-semiconductors that convert electric energy into light energy. Compared to laser diodes (LD), LEDs offer advantages such as lower cost and longer service life.

LEDs are grouped into visible LEDs and invisible LEDs. Visible LEDs are mainly used for display or illumination, where LEDs are used individually. Invisible LEDs, however, are mainly used with photosensors such as photodiodes or CMOS image sensors.
Hamamatsu provides various LEDs from red to mid infrared range, which are mainly used in combination with photosensors. A product lineup that covers a variety of wavelengths based on crystal growth technology and process technology that support compound semiconductor materials are available. Optical transmission encoders require a collimated LED to achieve high accuracy.

Lighting for infrared cameras

 
LEDs are used for POF (plastic optical fiber) communications and FSO (free space optics).
 
Infrared LEDs with large output are used as light sources for infrared camera imaging. These LEDs are arranged around the camera.
