The C14076-01 is a photon counting module that can detect low-level light. The C11202 series is a single-photon counting module capable of detecting low light levels. The C11202 series is made up of a thermoelectrically cooled single-pixel photon counter (SPPC), an amplifier, a comparator, a high-voltage power supply circuit, and a temperature controller. The photosensitive area is available in two sizes of ϕ50 μm and ϕ100 μm, and such small photo- sensitive areas offer a low dark count. Modules operate just by connecting them to an external power supply (±5 V).

The MPPC (multi-pixel photon counter) is one of the devices called Si-PM (silicon photomultiplier).
It is a photon-counting device using multiple APD (avalanche photodiode) pixels operating in Geiger mode. Although the MPPC is essentially an opto-semiconductor device, it has excellent photon-counting capability and can be used in various applications for detecting extremely weak light at the photon counting level.
The MPPC operates on low voltage and features high gain, high photon detection efficiency, high-speed response, excellent time resolution, and wide spectral response range. It achieves the performance that is required in photon-counting at a high level. The MPPC is also immune to magnetic fields, highly resistant to mechanical shocks and the like, which are advantages unique to solid-state devices.

The C12332-01 is a simple evaluation starter kit for non-cooled MPPC. MPPC evaluation is possible by mounting an MPPC in    the socket of the sensor circuit board. Various types of MPPCs can be evaluated. MPPC with flexible cable (for evaluating sur- face mount type MPPC) can also be connected by using the FFC connector of the power supply circuit board.
The power supply circuit board is equipped with the C11204-01, a high-accuracy, high-voltage power supply that provides the operating voltage for MPPC. It operates just by connecting to an external power supply (±5 V). It is also equipped with a USB interface that can be used to set the operating voltage and temperature compensation coefficient from a PC running the supplied sample software.

The C13368/C13369 series [MCA (multichannel analyzer) type] is an optical measurement module with an MPPC array that can detect very-low-level light. These modules consist of a 16 ch MPPC array, a signal processing circuit, an A/D converter, and a high-voltage power supply circuit. It has a USB port that can be used to retrieve energy information of each channel using a PC. External power supply is not necessary (USB bus powered). It comes in two types with different photosensitive areas, 1 × 1 mm and 3 × 3 mm. X-rays and gamma-rays can be detected in combination with a scintillator.
